This is an AUTOMATIC watch (read: Mechanical - NOT Quartz), and the function chronometer grade. Chronometer as used here is an accurate measure of timeliness, not quality - a point often misunderstood - and is used mostly from the perspective of marketing by companies such as Rolex. However. This movement in THIS watch is EXCELLENT in terms of quality, time keeping ability, and construction - easily compared to other Swiss made movements from other famous manufacturers costing several times. This watch, is served, will provide a lifetime of use - and maybe more. Of course, type of pass to see the next generation. GMT comes super handy if you are a frequent international traveler or if you deal with people in another continent on a regular basis. R rit is a man 's watch .. solid and heavy. I decided to buy Omega Sea Master Pro Chronometer 2535.80 Amazon since it is the best deal in this price range. It is also very well done and very enjoyable research shows. I only wear for 1 month, so no comment on the long-term quality of it. But so far, it is very clear - to + / - 8 seconds so far (not daily).
