The Seamaster Planet Ocean from Omega delivers exceptional performance and style, both above and below water. The dial is capped with a virtually scratch-proof sapphire crystal glass and framed by a unidirectional rotating bezel in steel, black, with brands minute and fluted edges for grip. A handsome and durable steel bracelet completes the look. This watch features Omega self-winding movement Swiss enhanced by cooperation pierced Omega-axial escapement, a technology that guarantees high precision and stable accuracy over long periods of use. It is water resistant par total of 600 meters (2000 feet). History Omega The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began hand assembling watches key wound precision pocket from parts supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name did not appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt passed away and his watchmaking traditions were taken over by his son, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars - the Omega Seamaster is famous for being the watch of choice for James Bond - with current ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe. But Omega is more than just a fashionable watch. In 1965 the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight qualified by NASA for all manned space missions" as shown only to have withstood all tests stringent U.S. space agency, including the pass mark for extreme shock, vibration, and temperatures ranging from - 18 to 93 degrees Celsius. The greatest moment in the history of the Speedmaster was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02h56 GMT, when he recorded the first steps of man on the lunar surface as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases and bands. Each new Omega movement is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to determine the temperature resistance, resistance to shock and vibration resistance.

Reviews

I am happy with the look and quality of this watch. It could be worn with a dress or casual. C 'is stylish without being flashy or loud. XL (2200.50.00) size looks good on people with wide cuffs. I would say that if you wear gloves XL or XXL this watch will be perfect. It 'sa quality automatic (self-winding), with a timepiece that proper care will last you and your children ' lives. Co-axial (low friction therefore more accurate), timer (tested and certified by the COSC for accuracy) and 2000ft dive give you a lot of swimming around.

The watch looks amazing. I received the extra large version, but it looks great. It was too big or anything.

I am rather opinionated when it comes to luxury watches. This comes from spending 2 years in watch making school, studying directly under the guidance of a certified master swiss watchmaker who came here from Europe. Watches, especially mid to high grade swiss watches, are a passion of mine. I am not loyal to a brand or a style or anything else. I judge them for what they are, in terms of quality, function, construction, and style. A watch makers point of view. R rThis said I will tell you that this particular watch is what I consider to be a "best kept secret " sort of watch. This is an AUTOMATIC watch (read: Mechanical - NOT Quartz), and of chronometer grade function. Chronometer as used here is a measure of accurate timekeeping, not quality - a point often misunderstood - and is used mostly from a marketing point of view by companies such as Rolex. HOWEVER. This movement in THIS watch is actually EXCELLENT in terms of quality, time keeping ability, and construction - easily Comparable to other Swiss made movements from other famous manufacturers costing several times as much. This watch, properly serviced, will provide a lifetime of use - and probably more. Absolutely the sort of watch you pass down to the next generation. R rall in all - and EXCELLENT choice - especially for those seeking their first QUALITY Swiss watch purchase. R rDefinitely recommended!

Last sport watch you 'll ever need to buy. R rThis review refers to the Model 2218.50, XL version (45 mm case) with steel bracelet. Opinion of the movement, adjustment and reliability are also applicable to the model with rubber strap and leather / lizard strap. R rThis is a pretty timepiece, weighs 9 + ounces (over half a pound), taste and quality and would emit the forbidden look and gasped. Double dome sapphire crystal anti-glare super sharp and sometimes hard to determine it there. R rThe exterior is a combination of brushed and polished stainless steel, especially the trademark Omega horns are finished mixed. R rThe screw-down crown is adorned with the Omega logo and easy to open, first position allows manual winding to increase strength, helium valve at 10:00 is a periodic escape decorated with the symbol "He ". R rClockwise changed the crown in second position Set the date forward, the date can 't be adjusted backwards. When adjustments are easy and fast, no adjustment for seconds is available. R counter rThe Unidirectional rotating bezel clockwise 120 clicks and lines perfectly with every second marker, solid sense of rotation is no more than you 'd expect from Omega. R rThe luminescent material of this watch is a magnet of light, only a few seconds exposure to sunlight or held close to the light will change the face of this watch into a lighthouse! Combined with the chrome panels and split hand subdials and this timepiece can be used as a signal mirror, a low flying aircraft. R rThe Omega 3313 movement is identical to their 3303 movement except for a 3313 co-axial escape, this is the same movement in the Omega Deville and will be used in models of the future. R rThe accuracy of this watch is only surpassed by the Omega Seamaster Quartz 300 2221.80, my Quartz Omega never loses or gains and the PO gains less than 5 seconds a week. On the day I don 't wear it, I spend 60 seconds winding and save up vertically for optimum movement. R rThe bracelet includes the scuba extension of all SeaMasters, but has no convenience pins for rapid adjustment or weight fluctuations. Be removed easily with the double release pins and feels confident closed when clasped. R ri 've done a test backup power, it still serves about 43 hours with a full wind. R rThe watch can also function with a running chronograph for over 40 hours on a full wind, which is very impressive. R rOverall, I 'd recommend this movie for anyone who wants to sport the most beautiful bells ISN ' t out of place and formal, like all of the Omegas made before it, I expect this watch to endure for the grandchildren and their grandchildren.

The opinions of the movement, adjustment and reliability are also applicable to the model with rubber strap and leather / lizard strap. R rThis clock is sturdy, it weighs 9 + ounces (over half a pound), it feels and exudes quality and is bound to illicit a glance and a double take. The domed double anti glare sapphire crystal is super sharp and sometimes hard to determine is there yet. R rthe exterior is a combination of brushed and polished stainless steel, especially the horns of the Omega brand is mixed, it finished. R rthe bracelet includes extending underwater SeaMasters all, but has no convenience pins for rapid adjustment or for bodily weight fluctuation. R ri 've done the tests of power reserve, it continues to operate approximately 43 hours with a total liquidation. R Watch rthe can also work with a chronograph running for over 40 hours on a full wind, that is impressive. R rOverall, I 'd recommend this watch for anyone who wants an exquisite sport watch n ' is out of place in a formal, like all of the Omegas made before it, I expect this watch to endure for my grandchildren and their grandchildren.

I was looking for an Omega with the co-axial movement. I have this, and I 'm glad I did. It's huge and heavy. not for smaller wrists or for people who Don 't want their watch to excel and be noticed. The movement so far has kept my time better auto tag or Rolex datejust.
